nah, their both godlike song writers in their own right, but its true that Paul Weller paints a better picture of working class misery because he just is that godlike

  2. frenchielcfc says:

noel can only dream about writing songs this good

  3. EvelinevandeWinckel says:

amazing performance of both of them!

  4. MinimalistCouch says:

this is social commentary at it’s BEST. i”ve heard of them but have never heard them. this song has def. got my attention and i’m gonna look into their stuff because this speaks to me in a way i can’t even explain. BEAUTIFUL. “A KICK IN THE BALLS” nowvthat really is entertainment.

@originalprankster777 youv’e got your opinion mate. I think I like two maybe three Oasis tracks. After the first two albums they generally released shite. Long live the Jam, still respected after 30 fucking years, in 30 years time they will STILL be respected. Rock Fucking On!

  7. jimipolo1 says:

i agree prankster. To absolute legends in their OWN right. easily two of the best songwriters of the late twentieth century. paul was noels idol when he was younger. And now they’re best of freinds. Fantasic. Oasis AND the jam are classic bands. To put things in perspective. Only three bands had two songs on the same episode of TOTPs Oasis, the jam and the who. Nuff said!

  8. originalprankster777 says:

For a video like this, I don’t think arguments over whether Weller or Gallagher are better are needed, just watch the video and appreciate the 2 legends from 2 great bands performing a great song.

  9. Eltroim says:

what does noel say at the beggining, i dont fking understand

  10. toolooselitrek says:

“…feeding ducks in the park and wishing you were far away.”……enough said! I agree!!!!

  11. SuperMoose54 says:

  12. ashingtoon says:

bsronbrez you are talking through your anus mate. Weller wrote some of the best songs ever and your’e quote that Oasis have wrote more “classic” tunes is the biggest pile of bullshit since bullshit was invented. Oasis my fucking arse.

  13. mrhitmanisback says:

@chris626880378 i wouldnt waste my cash on the monobrowed twosome

  14. mrhitmanisback says:

Its a cool album Chris with some good tracks, I bought it like most ppl in 95. They have never bettered that album though and apart from the occasional track which i like, I think they are a descent live band with mediocre songs. Whats the Story won the Brit award for the best British album of the past 30 years, They were extremely lucky considering the competition imo, It was a solid album but nothing groundbreaking.

  17. 7777indie says:

married with children is one of oasis most under rated songs, its up there with the best. along with whatever

  18. chris626880378 says:

@betahifidelity listen to the album “whats the story morning glory” and tell me they only have a few good songs you would do well to find an album as good as it now of days

  19. swestdartford says:

Baronbrez : your a cock, you don’t have a fuckin’ clue!

  20. betahifidelity says:

But music is subjective and we are all music lovers, Thats the important thing. Im not the biggest Paul Weller fan, But his stuff from 77-89 is hard to beat. After 89 i think his music became to bland and boring, This coincided for his friendship with the Gallaghers and the other 1990’s Britpoppers. Good luck to Oasis though, Its nothing personal.

  21. baronbrez says:

The view of people who have never really listened to Oasis… I love the Jam and Oasis and love Weller as a soloist as i’m sure i shall love Noel.

But Oasis have produced by far a lot more classic tunes that will be remembered than Weller has.

  22. betahifidelity says:

Noel did good here but i allways thought Oasis were seriously over rated. A few good songs and a descent live band but nothing as special as The Gallagers claim themselves to be. Dont look back in anger/wonderwall were their two finest, Mr Wellers back catologue shames the Gallaghers in every respect.

  23. TheMrbollox says:

Well that’s your opinion not fact.

  24. TheMrbollox says:

ffs why do people always shit on Oasis?

    the masterplan>>>>>>>>>wonderwall

  25. bartonim says:

@jimih64 Oasis made no excuses and blatantly wore their influences on their sleeves. The accusations never bothered them. Cigarettes and Alcohol with its T-Rex riff, which Noel happily acknowledged is a good example.

They were a good band either way. I would say Lennon more than the Fabs had the most influence.
