The official video for the recorded version of “This Too Shall Pass” off of the album “Of the Blue Colour of the Sky”. The video was filmed in a two story warehouse, in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA. The “machine” was designed and built by the band, along with members of Syyn Labs ( syynlabs.com ) over the course of several months. OK Go thanks State Farm for making this video possible.

    @ilikesthepie123 It took the crew (shown at the end of the video) about an hour to reset the machine after a complete run. But most of the takes stopped before the tire rolled down the ramp, so they only needed to reset the small (and unreliable) stuff, rather than resetting the whole machine.

    Something in the sledge hammer hitting the TV causes a wedge to drop between the rails supporting the first globe. That pushes the rails apart, and the globe rolls from the end with the rails close together to the end with the rails further apart.

    Yes, it’s all real. There are a couple edits, but the original concept was to film it in one shot, and they filmed each take as a single shot. It looks like the final video combines the lower floor from an earlier take, the upper floor from a later take, and the transition from a still later take.
